The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, has recorded another operational success with the arrest of a suspected transformer vandal, Audu Bello,
This was disclosed in a statement made available to Treasuretimes in Lokoja on Thursday.
The spokesperson of the command, SC Aliyu Abdullahi added that three other accomplices identified simply as Asipita, Abdullahi, and Abdul are currently at large.
He said, the arrest followed a distress report received from vigilant members of the Inoziomi Community in Adavi Local Government Area, who observed suspicious movements around a newly installed AEDC transformer scheduled for commissioning next week.
According to him , based on credible intelligence, swiftly directed the operatives of the NSCDC Adavi Divisional Office, in collaboration with members of the community, mobilized to the scene and successfully apprehended the suspect in the early hours of 10th July, 2026, at about 12:00 a.m.
He said the Items recovered from the suspect include vandalized AEDC transformer components, various tools used in carrying out the act, and a Volkswagen Golf 3 Station Wagon with registration number KWL 837 ZZ (Abuja).
He disclosed further that the suspect is currently in custody and will be thoroughly profiled, and on the conclusion of investigations, he will be charged to court, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplices.
”The Kogi State Command reiterates its commitment to protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in line with the directive of the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR. The Command also commends the vigilance and cooperation of the Inoziomi Community, whose timely information led to the successful arrest, and urged members of the public to continue providing credible intelligence to security agencies.
