Olu Apata-Oworo, Oba Frederick Balogun JP has said that Christmas symbolises hope, love, and salvation to Christians across the globe.

The traditional ruler made the assertion in his Christmas message to the people of his domain, Kogi and Nigeria, as a whole and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday.

Oba Balogun described Christmas as a season that rekindles the hope of mankind considering the challenges of life that the Federal and State Governments are trying to address.

“Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus Christ, calls for sober reflection, display of faith in God even as we pray for His divine intervention in our lives.

“I hereby urge Christians and others to use the festive season to reflect on their responsibilities as citizens of Nigeria to recommit themselves to selfless service for economic growth.

“May this Christmas season renew our hope to a better future as God helps in eradicating banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism in the country, ” he prayed.

He called on the people of Kogi and Nigerians as a whole to support President Bola Tinubu’s and Gov. Ahmed Ododo’s policies and programs for the achievement of the desired growth and development of Kogi and Nigeria.

The traditional ruler, however, wished all residents of Apata-Oworo and Kogi a merry Christmas and a fulfilling festive season.
