Comrade Paul John, a Human Rights  Activist and public affairs commentator, has condemned in its entirety, the ugly aspersions cast on the workaholic and crime Czar, Commissioner of Police, Kogi state ,CP Naziru Kankarofi for allegedly aiding government sponsored arrest of a councillor over destruction of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu posters and billboards in kogi state.

Comrade Paul John who reacted  angrily on Friday against the  viral video being circulated by one Oma Igala Uche skit maker, described the allegations as frivolous, false, lacking of merits , unfounded and mischievous urging good people of the  state to treat as rash, rubbish and of no meaning on  a peaceful and crime burster Commissioner of Police Naziru Kankarofi.

According to him, the allegation that the Kogi State Police Command is being used as a political tool is an attempt to blackmail the police and incite public sentiment against the force.

“The CP, Nazir Bello Kankorfi, is a professional officer doing his job in line with the extant  law. Accusing him of aiding the state government to arrest anyone for destroying President Tinubu’s billboard without evidence is wrong. OMA Igalla Uche got it wrong, and should be brought to book “John stated.

He explained that destruction of political billboards is an offence under the law and the police has the constitutional mandate to investigate and arrest those culpable no matter the political affiliation of the culprits.

Comrade John further argued that if a councilor was arrested for destroying the President’s billboards, the police only acted to maintain law and order and not to witch-hunt anyone.

He therefore challenged OMA Igala Uche to provide proofs of its claims that the police aided the government or withdraw the statement and apologize to the Commissioner of Police.

He called on socio-cultural groups in Kogi State to be objective and avoid dragging the police into partisan politics, noting that CP Kankorfi has maintained professionalism since assuming office as Kogi State Commissioner of Police.

He assumption of office in kogi has drastically reduced incidence of banditry, kidnapping for ransom and other sundry crimes making kogi the safest state to criss cross through to other parts of the country including Abuja, the federal capital of the Nation.

He therefore called on the commissioner of police to treat with urgency the false narrative displayed by the content creator and to bring book to forestall decency in skit making.

He enjoined the good people of kogi state to go about their awful business as the police command have the capacity to deal legally with mischief makers who would hide under content making to create unrest in the state.
