Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kogi East, Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has intensified his wide-ranging consultations across the senatorial district, seeking royal blessings and spiritual guidance from key traditional and religious leaders.

Chief Erico, accompanied by a delegation of party stalwarts and supporters, paid a courtesy visit to the historic Achadu Oko-Attah Palace in Idah, before heading to Ankpa for an audience with the Catholic Bishop, His Lordship, Most Rev. Anthony Adaji (MSP).

At the palace in Idah, the Achadu Oko-Attah offered prayers for the candidate while delivering a firm, fatherly charge on the need for political decency, peaceful engagement, and youth inclusion.

Speaking during the reception, the monarch urged Chief. Erico to steer his political movement away from bitterness and violence, stressing that true leadership rests on peace and service to the community.

“Power belongs to God, but those who seek to represent the people must walk the path of peace,” the Achadu Oko-Attah stated. “I urge you to keep your campaign clean, shun any form of political violence, and stay close to the grass roots. If you remain humble and put our youths first through genuine job creation and skill development, that will be a legacy that outlasts any elective office.”

The royal father further counseled the senatorial hopeful to surround himself with trusted advisors and a team genuinely dedicated to the unity and progress of Igala land.

Responding to the Achadu Oko-Attah, Chief Dr. Erico expressed deep appreciation for the royal reception and the monarch’s candid counsel. He pledged to strictly abide by the royal charge, assuring the traditional leadership that his movement would remain anchored on peace, mutual respect, and concrete programs for youth empowerment across Igala land.

Continuing his consultation drive in Ankpa, Dr. Erico met with Bishop Anthony Adaji, where the cleric offered prayers for peace in the senatorial district and divine wisdom for those stepping forward to serve.

The Bishop emphasized the heavy responsibility that comes with public trust, calling on political actors to lead with integrity, clear conscience, and a commitment to the welfare of the people.

In his separate response to Most Rev. Anthony Adaji, Chief Dr. Erico thanked the bishop for his spiritual guidance and prayerful support. He reaffirmed his commitment to running a decorous, issue-based campaign.
