Niger pensioners beg Gov. Bello to implement minimum wage for members.

The Governor of Niger state, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has been told to put necessary machinery in place to commence the implementation of the consequential adjustment in pension for pensions in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by the National President and General Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Pentioners,Comrade Godwin Abumisi and Elder Actor Zal said the call is in view of the current financial situation of Pentioners in the state.
The statement said President Mohammed Buhari has on the twenty eight of April this year approved the release of circular for the payment at the Federal level.
The statement also said that the consequential adjustment in pention arises from the implementation of the National Minimum Wage of twenty nineteen.
The statement then called on Pentioners in the state to be more patient as the National Secretariat of the Union will ensure the Pentioners in the are not left out.
It could be recalled that some Pentioners in the state are receiving less than five thousand naira as monthly pention which has brought untold hardship to the senior citizen, compared with the market situation.
