Fuel scarcity ; Kogi NSCDC averts violence at filling stations.
The prompt intervention of the officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps , kogi state command, has successfully averted crisis that would have arisen from the wrong signal that a filling station located in Lokoja metropolis was hoarding and selling petroleum products at #300.00 per liter.
The Public Relations officer of the command Chief Superintendent of Corps Alex Agiri in a chat with Treasuretimes on Tuesday said that the office received distress call from angry motorists that a petrol station was selling premium motor spirit PMS above the regulated price.
Agiri explained that on receipt of the call at 0930 hrs of today, dispatch his men of the anti vandal squad and Rapid Response Squad who on discreet investigation , discovered to be false alarm.
According to him” When my men got to the alleged station, it was revealed that the reserved quantity of PMS in the underground tanks were for the Army for their operations.
However, the PRO called on the public to verify their information before reaching out to security agencies, while appealing to fuel station operators to sell the products at approved price even as the public should exercise decorum at filling stations.
He assured the general public of the commitment of the corps to professionally discharge her mandate in fighting crime and criminality.
