Kogi@31; NUT Chairman urges workers to keep Hopes Alive.

The Kogi state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers ,’NUT Comrade Joel Salifu has felicitated with Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello,his cabinet members, Citizens and the primary school teachers for the thirty first anniversary of the state.
Comrade Joel Salifu made felicitation to the citizens of the state in a statement which was made available to newsmen on Tuesday in oLokoja .
The statement disclosed that the state was created in 1991 from the old Kabba province who have been yearning for the state of their own.
Comrade Salifu who took a clinical assessment of the leaders who were privileged to steer the ship of the state since its creation from retired colonel Zakari Mohammed as the first military administrator and up to the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello attested that the hope of the people have been rekindled with the creation.
He acknowledged the immeasurable inroads of past and present leaders made in the establishment of durable infrastructural development projects ranging from setting up Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education, State of the arts health care facilities , good road networks .
He added that the state has also made progress in primary and secondary Schools, construction of housing estates which spanned across the state.
He attributed the tremendous achievements the state and its citizens had recorded during the period under reviewed to the peaceful co-existence of the multi-ethnic tribes who have made up their minds to live peacefully.
The State chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers while commending the state Governor , Alhaji Yahaya Bello for granting the approval for the recruitment of new teachers, however appealed for the payment of backlog of promotions and leave bonus and other entitlements .
He further admonished the citizens to foster Peaceful living with one another, support government policies programmes and contribute their quota to the socio-economic growth and development of the state.
”As we commemorates the thirty first anniversary of the creation of our beloved Kogi state all hands must be on deck to work together as one people with one destiny to catapults our father’s land to sustainable socio-economic growth and advancement’.Joel further asserted.1
