The Omala Women Association of Nigeria(OWAN) received with profound sadness the news of the passing of His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, former Governor of Kogi State, popularly and affectionately known as “Baba Kogi.”
On behalf of the entire membership of the Omala Women Association of Nigeria, we extend our deepest condolences to the immediate family of our departed elder, his relatives, associates, friends, the people of Kogi State, and all Nigerians who mourn this great loss.
The death of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is a painful loss to his family, his community, Kogi State, and Nigeria as a whole. His departure marks the end of an important chapter in the political and developmental history of Kogi State. As a former governor and elder statesman, he devoted a significant part of his life to public service and to the affairs of his people.
To many, he was not only a political leader but also an elder whose name became associated with leadership, service, and the pursuit of the development of Omala ,Kogi East and Kogi State. His contributions to the state and his interactions with people across different communities will remain part of the memories of those who encountered him during his lifetime.
At this difficult moment, the Omala Women Association of Nigeria (OWAN) recognizes that no words can adequately ease the pain of losing a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, leader, and elder. We therefore pray that Almighty God will grant his family the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.
We also pray that God Almighty, in His infinite mercy, will forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest, and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.
We urge the family to take solace in the life he lived, the people he touched, the responsibilities he carried, and the legacy he leaves behind. While his physical presence will be greatly missed, the memories of his life and service will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and respected him.
The Omala Women Association of Nigeria stands in solidarity with the family, the people of Kogi State, and all mourners during this period of grief. May Almighty Allah comfort the bereaved, strengthen the family, and grant them the fortitude to endure this difficult time.
May the soul of His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, rest in perfect peace.
