The Senior Special Assistant on Security , Omala Local Government Area of kogi state, Chief Steve Shaibu has resigned his appointment .
He has allegedly cited arm- twisting and intimidation in the persisting Bagana Crisis as some of the reasons for his action.
In his resignation note dated on the 29th August, 2022 , a copy of which was made available to Treasuretimes in Lokoja on Wednesday, alleged that the Chairman of the Council, Hon Ibrahim Aboh’s lack of political will to deal decisively with the crisis, was largely responsible for the persistence of the crisis
He said despite his numerous advices and expert opinions on how to resolve the imbroglio, which fell on deaf ears, said he can no longer remain in office as Security adviser while security of lives and property keep deteriorating in Omala Local Government Area and Bagana Community in particular.
He alleged that some faceless persons have been intimidating him through threat calls and text messages which has put his life and family in danger.
He , However , urge the Executive Chairman as the chief security officer of the council to call the perpetrators to order and to hasten the implementation of the recommendations of the Bagana crisis Committee, which he said, is capable of restoring law and order that will enable displaced inhabitants return to their homes.
While thanking the Chairman for the opportunity to serve in his cabinet , charge him to be proactive on issues of security across the LGA to prevent further waste of human lives and properties.
