Agojeju Odo Killings: PDP calls for immediate halt to carnage, urges Government to arrest perpetrators.
The Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), in Kogi State has
condemned the gruesome killing
of 25 innocent people in Agojeju Odo in Omala local government
area, describing it as barbaric,
satanic, cruel and unacceptable in a sane society.
The PDP in a statement
signed by the chairman, Senator
Danjuma La’ah and made available to Treasuretimes on Saturday commiserated
with the families of the victims.
The statement however, demanded for a thorough investigation that will lead to arrest of the perpetrators of
the dastardly act
no matter highly placed
in the society.
The PDP, however, expressed
concern over the growing insecurity across the state,
charging the government to do
more to secure lives and property.
“The killings in Agojeju–Odo
in Omala local government area
of Kogi State is one too many.
How can innocent lives be taken
away by some cruel individuals
who are known for causing havoc in the society. Our sympathy is
with the families of those who
lost their lives in that attack. We
the Peoples Democratic Party are
with them in this trying period,”
he said.
The party said the
occurrence was a reflection of the worsening insecurity across Nigeria, it however counselled the state
government to ensure that those
behind the heinous crime be
brought to book.
