The Kogi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, has charged officers and men deployed for election duties in the forthcoming Ekiti State Governorship Election scheduled for 20th June, 2026, to exhibit the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and patriotism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Addressing the personnel prior to their departure, the State Commandant expressed profound appreciation to the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, for his visionary leadership and strategic policies which have continued to reposition the Corps for greater efficiency and effectiveness. He particularly commended the Commandant General’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of personnel, describing it as a major factor in boosting morale and enhancing productivity within the Service.
Commandant Aletan emphasized the need for officers to remain apolitical, impartial, and law-abiding, stressing that the credibility and integrity of the Corps are largely dependent on the conduct of its personnel during the electoral process.
He urged the officers to maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness, admonishing them to “see more and talk less” while carrying out their constitutional mandate with utmost decorum, civility, and respect for fundamental human rights.
The State Commandant further charged the personnel to exhibit maturity, teamwork, and professionalism throughout the operation, warning against any act capable of bringing the name of the Corps into disrepute.
He concluded by praying for divine protection, guidance, and success for all deployed personnel, wishing them a peaceful, hitch-free, and successful election duty.
