2027 ADC Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled sweeping plans to overhaul the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in the party’s 2027–2031 manifesto! 🇳🇬
Here is what you need to know about the proposed reforms:
1. Voluntary Participation: NYSC will no longer be mandatory. Young graduates will have the freedom to choose pathways that align with their career goals and national priorities.
2 Flexible Tracks: Graduates can choose from:
– Full-time service
– Part-time community service with skills training
– Entrepreneurship & Tech incubation
– Direct placement in health, education, and agriculture.
3. Capped Enrollment: An annual cap on participants will end overstretching, improving deployment quality, stipends, insurance, and overall corps member welfare.
4. Private Sector Partnerships: Paid service tracks in collaboration with private companies and NGOs, alongside a digital platform for transparent postings.
The goal? Build citizens, stop wasting graduate potential, and align service with 21st-century economic realities.
