BASSA LG WORKERS vow to remain firm with Ododo  in 2027 ELECTIONS

Bassa Local Government workers have declared total support for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the coming elections, citing improved workers’ welfare and visible governance under the present administration.

The workers made the declaration on Monday in Oguma, headquarters of the local government, during a visit by the Workplace Security Campaign Team led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour, Comrade Onuh Edoka.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Bassa Local Government Council, Hon. Theophilus Danruwana, said the Governor has performed well and deserves re-election. He noted that workers in the state have fared better under the Ododo administration and described the ongoing sensitisation as a call to greater service and mobilization ahead of the polls.

He commended the campaign team for taking the message to the grassroots and expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress would record a landslide victory across the state.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union in the area, Comrade Adamu Amodu, who spoke on behalf of other unions, listed out the achievements of the Governor since assuming office. He said workers were resolute in their decision to return Governor Ododo for a second term. He however appealed to the Special Adviser to help address some of the challenges facing workers in the local government in order to further solidify the support base.

In his remarks, Comrade Onuh Edoka said the workplace sensitisation was critical given the importance of a safe and secure work environment to productivity. He urged workers to remain security conscious at all times and stressed that job security remains key to the wellbeing of workers and their families.

The Special Adviser assured that government was already looking into most of the challenges highlighted by the workers and thanked the Council Chairman for his presence and commitment during the visit.

Present at the event were the Bassa Local Government Chairman of NLC, Comrade Gabriel Amari, TUC Chairman, Comrade Sule Ahmed Tijani, JNC Chairman, Comrade Olusegun Alemeru, and other political office holders.
