CONDOLENCE MESSAGE TO THE VICE-CHANCELLOR, PRINCIPAL OFFICERS, MANAGEMENT, STAFF, AND STUDENTS OF THE NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA (NOUN)

The President, National Executive Committee and entire members of BookNation received with deep shock and sadness the news of the tragic and untimely passing of Mallam Nasiru Gusau Marafa, the Bursar of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) on Sunday, 6th September, 2026.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Vice-Chancellor, Principal Officers, Governing Council, Management, Staff, Students, and the entire NOUN community on this painful loss. The death of such a dedicated administrator and committed professional is not only a loss to the University but also to the Nigerian education sector.

At this difficult moment, we stand in solidarity with the NOUN family and pray that Almighty God grants the late Mallam Nasiru Gusau Marafa eternal rest and forgives his shortcomings. We also pray that his family, colleagues, friends, and the entire University community are granted the strength, comfort, and courage to bear this irreparable loss.

May the memories of his service, dedication, and contributions to the growth of the University continue to inspire all who worked with him.
