Gov. Ododo bags Ogba Communiy Grand Commander of Peace

In recognition of his immense contributions to the restoration of peace and security, the people of Ogba in Mozum District of Bassa local government area of Kogi State has honoured Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo with the award of Grand Commander of Peace
The Grand Commander of Peace bestowed of the governor is the highest award of the community.
This is just as the community launched a fund raising and endowment fund for the completion of ongoing projects.
The event featured award presentation to Governor Ododo, Chairman of Bassa local government area, Hon. Theophilus Daruwana, including the member of the House of Representatives, representing Dekina and Bassa federal constituency, Paul Haruna Gowon Yakubu (IJN), community leaders, politicians, development workers, policy experts, Philanthropists and civil society organisations in the state.
Ogba Community union described the Chairman of Bassa local government area, Hon. Theophilus Adama Daruwana as a trailblazer and a lover of peace who has demonstrated good leadership and commitment to rebuilding community resilience in the aftermath of the ethnic conflict in Bassa local Government area since his assumption of office two years ago, as relative peace has returned to the area.
“In recognition and appreciation of your inva contribution to the restoration of peace to Bassa local Government area, and the sustained peace building in entire Bassa LGA, we are pleased to confer you with the award of Bassa Peace Ambassador, as a remarkable Peacemaker and Ambassador of peace in Bassa local Government area, in view of your contribution and support to the sustained peace process in our communities, as a pride of honour to our local government area.
The entire good people of Ogba Community, Ogba Traditional Council, Elders Council, Ogba Youth Congress, under the auspices of Ogba Community Development Union (OCDU), wish to confer you with the prestigious Ogba Community Service Merit Award, in recognition and appreciation of your efforts and commitment to the restoration of peace to Bassa LGA.
“The impactful development projects of your administration in Bassa local government, especially the Ogba Central Mosque project, endeared you to Ogbalites, as beacon of hope, and icon of good governance. Your selfless service and political leadership is an inspiration to Ogba Community.”
This award comes with the title of Ambassador, as an Ambassador of peace in Kogi State and Nigeria because of your leadership role in the Bassa Peace process,” OCDU president noted.
Ogba Community, at a colourful public Presentation of Ogba merit award 2025 to Governor Ododo, lauded Ododo as a Peacemaker and Champion of Community development, whose administration, the community said had provided the riverside community with a model primary Healthcare Centre to the community of Fishermen and Farmers in the State.
According to the President of Ogba community development union (O. C. D. U. NIGERIA), Dr. Ishaq Dan-Imam, the Ogba PHC facility was the first of its kind in the area, as the community values the health facility as a “landmark legacy project” of the Ododo administration in the state.
