The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kogi East, Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has continued his consultations across the district with a strategic meeting involving key party leaders from the zone, as preparations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which took place at his residence in Etutekpe, Okpo, brought together members of the APC State Working Committee from Kogi East, divisional chairmen, youth and women leaders, as well as party secretaries from across the nine local government areas of the district.
Discussions at the gathering centred on strengthening party unity, assessing the state of grassroots structures, identifying challenges confronting party members in various communities, and exploring ways to improve coordination ahead of the next election cycle.
Party leaders from different local government areas took turns to brief the gathering on issues affecting members in their respective areas and offered suggestions on how the party could deepen its presence at the grassroots.
Speaking during the meeting, the APC Zonal Chairman for Kogi East, Hon. Abdul Ogwu Alhassan, stressed the need for teamwork and commitment among party members, noting that no political party could achieve success without the collective efforts of its leaders and supporters.
According to him, the APC must remain united and focused if it hopes to consolidate its strength across the district.
“Every member has a role to play in building a stronger party. Our success will depend on how well we work together, support one another and remain committed to the ideals of the APC,” Hon. Alhassan said.
He urged party leaders at all levels to continue engaging members in their various localities and ensure that the party remains active and visible within their communities.
In his remarks, Chief Dr. Erico called for greater cooperation among party stakeholders, saying unity, mutual respect and constant engagement would be critical as the party prepares for future political contests.
He assured those present of his readiness to work closely with established party structures and maintain regular consultations with members across the district.
“We must continue to see ourselves as one family. The strength of our party lies in our unity and our ability to work together toward a common goal,” Chief Erico said.
The APC senatorial candidate also pledged to remain accessible to party members and leaders, adding that listening to their concerns and working together to address challenges would remain a priority.
He further urged members to rally behind APC candidates in future elections, stressing that effective grassroots mobilisation and sustained commitment would play a crucial role in the party’s success.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by party leaders to strengthen internal cohesion and intensify grassroots engagement as the APC begins early preparations for the 2027 general elections.
