The Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, has said that workplace security and job protection are central to sustaining workers’ welfare and securing victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.

Comrade Edoka stated this on Friday during the Kogi State Government’s Workplace Security Campaign visit to Dekina and Omala Local Government Areas.

He noted that the importance of security cannot be overemphasized in today’s society, and urged workers to remain vigilant both at their workplaces and in their communities.

Enumerating the achievements of the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo administration, the SA Labour said there was a need to support both the Governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in their re-election bids in order to guarantee job security and sustainable development for workers.

“The purpose of this campaign is to sensitize you on safety, secure your jobs, and consolidate the gains we have made. With Governor Ododo and President Tinubu, workers’ welfare is assured,” Comrade Edoka told workers in both LGAs.

Receiving the team at the Dekina Local Government Secretariat, the Chairman, Hon. John Urah Ikani, described the Workplace Security Campaign as a right step towards adequate grassroots mobilization ahead of the coming elections.

He said the initiative has made campaigns easier and commended the Governor for approving a program that is results oriented.

Hon. Ikani described Comrade Edoka as “a successful fighter” and congratulated the APC for having him as a frontline member.

He assured that workers in Dekina LGA are strongly behind the government, citing the cordial relationship between the workers, their leaders, and the administration as proof of the good leadership provided by Governor Ododo.

In Omala, the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark, also described the campaign as strategic for grassroots mobilization.

He emphasized that effective partnership with labour is essential to drive government policies and programmes and to ensure total victory in the coming elections.

Hon. Edibo said Governor Ododo has made campaigns easier by delivering responsive governance, and specifically commended the Governor for improving security in the area, particularly with the establishment of the FOB at Bagana.

Labour leaders in both Dekina and Omala assured that their members are strongly in support of the re-election of Governor Ododo and President Tinubu based on the administrations’ attention to workers’ welfare.

In his remarks, the Kogi State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Gabriel Amari, expressed appreciation to workers in the two councils for the warm reception accorded the team.

The visits were marked by cultural performances by various cultural troupes who entertained the delegation.

The Workplace Security and Workers’ Welfare Campaign continues across the 21 LGAs of the state.
