In a commitment to strengthening the security architecture during the Eid El Fitri,Celebration, the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC CD Aletan Olumide Ebenezer has deployed one thousand, one hundred and Eighty three officers and men to maintain law and order at the yuletide across the state.
The Commandant made the disclosure in a press statement signed by SC. Abdullahi Aliyu, the command Public Relations Officer, and made available to Newsmen on Tuesday in Lokoja.
CD Ebenezer noted that the exercise was in line with the NSCDC Commandant General, prof Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR directive to ensure a hitch-free celebration across the country.
The State Commandant tasked the Area Commanders to ensure proper Security coordination of their areas, while Divisional Officers are to effectively mobilize their personnel across the board.
He further directed that all component Commanders and all Special Forces are to be deployed to achieve a watertight Security for maximum protection of lives properties and all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
He said the resolve of the command to guarantee peace, safety and protection of lives and Critical assets in synergy with other Security agencies remain sacrosanct and must be carried out through collective inputs.
He charged line officers to be fully involved in the discharge of their responsibilities, warned against compromise and abdication of duties.
He mandated all formations within the State Command to engage community stake holders in gathering credible and relevant intelligence and carry out composite surveillance before, during and after the celebration to prevent surprises from criminals .
He told the officers that the deployment of personnel should be focused on prayer grounds, worship centers, recreational facilities, motor Parks, gardens, markets, shopping complexes, black spots and Critical installations to make the festivity a hitch-free celebration
While extending sallah greetings to Muslims faithfuls advised them to celebrate responsibly to avoid running foul of law and order.
