In his obnoxious determination to curry and magically sway the voting pattern in favour of his preferred aspirant, an APC chieftain narrowly cheated death as he was caught red handed while allegedly trying to bury substances suspected to be charms.
The APC chieftain, who is believed to have come from Lokoja to Yagba, was working for a senatorial aspirant , decided to try the efficacy of his charms to sway the Yagba delegates for his principal.
But luck ran out of him when the youths in the area who were suspicious of strange movements raced to scene and got him apprehended.
According to an eye witness account, the APC Chairman, ( names witheld) was caught on Tuesday with some marabouts digging the ground in an attempt to plant some magical substance.
It took the intervention of a serving council Chairman at the police station in Mopa to rescue him from the angry mob who gave him the deadliest beating of his life.
The alledged Chairman confessed to the crime and said he was working for a senatorial aspirant .
After interrogation and intervention by the Council Chairman of Mopamuro, the Police later released the Chairman who is known to be confidant of Senatorial aspirant, but had the substances and charms collected.
The suspect was arrested by local vigilantes following a tip off from young youths mounting surveillance against activities of criminal elements.
The primaries of the APC is a few days away with political actors showing desperation and not leaving anything to chance.
